Multiple Offers indicate that........

While I was showing a new listing to my buyer yesterday, 3 more agents showed up with their clients. As far as I know, there were 5 offers a couple of hours later... I understand the house sold for more than asking price. Aaah, spring market!

Big plans this weekend

Saturday -I got invited to a SunTrust tailgate by Catherine Potter, so will be by Aquatic Fitness Center most of the time and will not be at Alumni Hall, my usual spot. Lisa will be covering for me and give out Claremont t-shirts, coozies, and other stuff.
Sunday - I am holding 3 condos open at Claremont 12-2. I hope some UVA alumni stop by on the way out of town. One of the benefits of owning a condo in Claremont is that it could be rented short-term, while during the football season an out-of-town owner would have a place to stay. Convenience and income!

Top Ten Best Places To Live - Charlottesville!

Congratulations to C'ville again! It is named as one of the best places to live by Yahoo! Real Estate.
  • Charlottesville, VA
  • Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, most areas of this idyllic city are accessible by foot or bicycle. Charlottesville enjoys clean air and water, and pleasant weather year-round, highlighted by especially beautiful fall foliage. Nearby Shenandoah National Park offers a wealth of recreation opportunities. Charlottesville is home to the University of Virginia, which strengthens the area's healthy economy by providing steady jobs and a wealth of amenities and entertainment. Homes are not cheap (median home price $225,000), but the cost of living is manageable. The city's low unemployment rate and significant recent job growth promise continued prosperity. As more and more people learn about this year's best city, Charlottesville may find staying affordable and sprawl-free is its greatest challenge!

"Healthy Business" interview for Speaking Forward radio show

Just came back from a radio show with Olga Morse and Jeff Haynes, of Speaking Forward. As many business women and as many working parents, I send my daughter Charlotte to child care. I try to teach Charlotte healthy habits at home. I also do my best to be consistent in providing her healthy and nourishing meals at home. The role of child is sometimes overlooked, yet children spend 8-12 hours in child care and get 3 or more meals over there. It is extremely important that the food children get while in child care is healthy. On this show I talk about easy ways to improve nutrition in child care. For example, celebrate special occasions with non-food treats, like stickers, pencils, trinkets, stamps, etc...! Games and other activities are also a hit for children. They won't even ask about sweets. Speaking from experience. The show will air on Saturday, Sep. 3.

Thank you Martha Jefferson Hospital

My daughter was born at Martha Jefferson Hospital and I have only good things to say about the hospital and all the people who work there. We started a countdown until MJH moves to a new hospital. They are moving from Downtown location to Pantops, East of C'ville. The pictures of their new facility look spectacular!!! I am planning on going to their Open House on Sunday to see it for myself. In addition, I am holding an Open House at Claremont myself 3-5PM. Claremont is just within walking distance to the new MJH, so I am sure there will be a lot of traffic. There is a special promotion at Claremont for MJH employees! I love all this excitement!

I heart Charlottesville

I just spoke to my clients, who are very sad to be moving out of the city. They have a mural by the Spanish artist Chicho in their basement as a love letter to the greatest town we call our home.

Chosen

I will be handling marketing and sales for a terrific development just East of Charlottesville. I see a lot of Martha Jefferson Hospital connections in the future ;-) This place would be perfect for MJ employees. Have to keep it hush for a couple of days, finalizing paperwork. Above is just a glimpse of the grounds, a view from the clubhouse. There was a pool party today and I got to meet many residents.
