Lights, camera, action!

It's that time of year here in Charlottesville, time for the annual Virginia Film Festival. My husband and I always make it a point to catch a movie or two; this year the centerpiece of the Festival is Nine Lives, which will be followed by Sissy Spacek speaking to the crowd. Should be fun, hope to see you there!

I love a parade...

For the third year in a row, I have the honor of serving as a judge in the annual Parade of Homes, where all the local homebuilders put their best homes forward. On October 15 and 16, these homes will be open to the public; a program is available in the Daily Progress or at the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association (2330 Commonwealth Drive, Suite 100). Feel free to contact me as well with any questions!

That'll do...

 Posted by Picasa

I spent the weekend with my husband up in Orange, Virginia, at Montpelier, home to James Madison, and home to the Fall Fiber Festival every year. Among the showcases for the sheep, alpaca, and llama farmers, there are also exhibitions for weaving and crafting with wool, refreshments, shearing demonstrations, and my favorite, the sheepdog trials. I love the border collies; you can see their happiness as they get the job done. They are some of the smartest dogs you'll ever find, second only to my corgi, Monty.

The t-shirt I'm wearing in the picture is a watercolor of Monty; I paint in my spare time and this particular work was placed on the web for sale. If you like it you can purchase this and other items with the same design.
